MARINE PARK

PULAU PAYAR MARINE PARK

Pulau Payar Marine Park is a popular site for snorkelling and diving. It's a boat trip about 45 minutes away from the Kuah jetty. Comprising four islands this marine park is spread over two nautical miles. None of these islands are inhabited and are strictly regulated to maintain their pristine condition.

DAYTRIP SNORKELING

Perfect location for snorkeling. There are four small beaches in Pulau Payar. From any of the beaches, you can swim or snorkel. The usual visibility is between 30-50 meters. There are plenty of harmless sharks (black-tipped) in the waters here. There are many other different fish including parrot fish, angel fish, dameselfish, rabbitfish, butterflyfish, clownfish etc. One of the best places to snorkel is under the bridge (jetty) where you can see the maximum number of fish and marine life.

PADI DIVING DAYTRIP

No matter you are a certified PADI diver or not, you can do a daytrip to Pulau Payar for a "fundive" or to "discover scuba diving". The most popular dive sites are Coral Garden, Sunken Boat Point, Grouper Farm, Sponge Reef, Lembu Rocks, Shark Point, and House Reef, where you can see schools of large fish that are absent from shallow waters, including whale shark, manta, seahorses, sweetlips, angelfishes, barracudas, and snappers.

There are many operators to do a dive or snorkeling day trip to Pulau Payar. But our good friends from Big Brother Dive Center Langkawi are highly recommended about their long time expertise and their custom service. Especially when you want to go for a PADI course and more.
