FOOD & PLACES TO EAT IN LANGKAWI

Night market sets up every day at different places in the island which is best known for take away cheap Malay food. Another favourite are the Kuih stalls that can be found in several places in the island. They sell delicious hand made snacks, cakes, cookies and other local fares.

KUEH SNACKS STREET FOOD

Cenang most famous street food stall: Mak Long is providing local food and snacks to generations of beach boys and girls already. It's a must during the afternoon hours...

WARUNG JATI AISYA

Nasi Campur (Rice Mix) Restaurants are the common choice for lunch in Langkawi. Our most favourite place Warung Jati Aisya with a huge choice is a bit off from Cenang in the Kedawang area (see map below).

NASI LEMAK

Nasi Lemak (creamy rice) is a malay classic dish… and favourite choice for breakfast. You can find it from basic sets wrapped in banana leaf to extended versions in restaurants . The rice is cooked in coconut milk and served with sambal, ikan bilis and egg, roasted peanuts and cucumber.

LAKSA CORNER

Laksa is the Bouillabaisse of Malaysia. Every region got its own styles and receipe. Best choice of Laksa you can find at the landing strip of the Langkawi airport. Usually operation for dinner... Good spot for sunset!

NASI DAGANG PAK MALAU

Nasi Dagang is another classic curry dish. Check out this small neighborhood restaurant with champion food in the middle of the island, The friendly owner, and the view overlooking the rice fields with Gunung Raya in the background, is what makes it even better.
NIGHT MARKET & OTHER LOCAL FOOD

Night markets in Langkawi are held every day of the week, taking place in different locations. Locally known as pasar malam, it is a lively affair with local food and other items from 17:00 until late.
